# How to Add Your Myanmar Shop to Google Maps (6 Easy Steps)

Do customers find your shop on Google? Try this. Search for your shop on your phone. If you cannot find it, your customers cannot find it too.

The good news is this: it is free to add your shop to Google Maps. You can do it with just your phone. Let me show you how.

### Why Google Maps Is Important

Many people in Thailand use Google Maps to find shops, restaurants, and services. When your shop is on the map:

- People can find you quickly.
- They can see your phone number and opening hours.
- They can read reviews from other customers.
- They can get directions to your shop.

If you are not on the map, people will go to another shop.

### 6 Easy Steps

 

#### Step 1: Use a Google account

 

Use your Gmail account. Or make a new Gmail just for your shop. A new one is better, because you can share it with a helper later.

 

#### Step 2: Make a Google Business Profile

 

Search for "Google Business Profile" on Google. Tap "Manage now." Then type your shop name.

Use the **real name** on your shop sign. Do not add extra words like "best shop in Bangkok." Google does not like this, and it can block your profile.

Next, choose a category. A category tells Google what your shop is. For example: Restaurant, Grocery store, or Beauty salon. Pick the one that fits best.

 

#### Step 3: Add your address and phone number

 

Type your shop address, phone number, and opening hours. Make sure they are all correct. If you go to your customers instead, you can choose a "service area" instead of an address.

 

#### Step 4: Verify your shop

 

Google needs to check that your shop is real. This is called "verify." Google will show you the ways you can do it. It might be a phone call, an email, or a short video. Follow the steps Google gives you. Until you verify, many people cannot see your profile.

 

#### Step 5: Add photos and a short description

 

Take photos of your shop front, the inside, and your products or food. Use your own photos. Real photos make people trust you.

Then write two or three short sentences. Tell people what you sell and what makes your shop special.

 

#### Step 6: Ask for reviews

 

Ask happy customers to write a review. You can say, "Can you write a review for us on Google? It helps us a lot." Some shops put a QR code near the cashier, so it is easy.

Never buy reviews. Never write fake reviews. Google can remove them.

### 3 Common Mistakes

1. **Wrong phone number or opening hours.** A customer comes, but the shop is closed. That is bad for your shop.
2. **Wrong category.** Google will show your shop to the wrong people.
3. **No reply to reviews.** Always say "thank you." It shows you care.
